Learn About Airfare Sales

With the economical downturn, 2008 and 2009 saw the fall of airfare sales. But thanks to oil prices coming down to normal levels, the airline industry have started breathing in with new hope.

A lot of people still bear the notion that air travel is extremely expensive. They carry this idea following the exuberant prices quoted by airlines during the ‘oil crisis’. However, the come back on airfare sales has not been easy for any airline or travel agent. This is why you see a lot of travel agents offering airfare sales with added advantages nowadays.

Although Forbes predict that the US economy will start improving from somewhere around the latter part of 2009, many people dont believe it. people are reluctant to spend on vacations because they ve started to feel the burden of every day expenses. In the US economy is going from bad to worse. So you can see how the system as a whole is coming to a stand still.

Among all this humdrum depression that is taking over the world economy, airfare sales have obviously gone down from bad to worse. But some smart travelers have recognized the opportunity and are willing to make the maximum use out of the situation. Look at it this way. If you have enough savings to pull you through a credit crunch and if you see that everything from real estate to airfare rates are going down, this is the time to indulge in things you couldn t afford before.

So if you are one of those lucky souls you will have enough monet to live by the Forbes top ten things to buy before economy improves. (By the way, they named buying a vacation as priority number two!). If you dig through history books, airfare sales have never been this low and similarly airfare offers have never been this great!…So dont ever let go of this chance if you have the finances to make it happen.

It is not too difficult to consult your travel agent to figure out prices isn’t it? Depending on the airfare sales a particular airline has for the coming two weeks, you can hope to get cheaper airfare rates than the usual. So if you come across an extraordinary airfare sales promotion, simply jump start your vacation from there. Remember that spontaneous vacations can sometimes turn out to be the best vacations ever!

Airfare Rates – An Introduction

With the world economy facing downturns and every industry in the world facing up financial crisis, the airline industry has thought ahead of time to on how to face the financial down turn. One strategy that is in use these days is lowering airfare rates.

When you want to make a trip abroad, unless you are super rich or unless the trip is sponsored by the company you work for, you will most certainly eye the airfare rates very closely. It is everybody’s dream to get the best airfare rates for the upcoming trip because if we can save up on the money we spend for the air ticket, we will drastically bring down the expenses of the trip.

With the world economy combatting against rising prices of oil, the air travel industry faced many challenges. This made a lot of of airfare rates to climb up resulting in many travelers changing their mind about traveling abroad. The lessening numbers of passengers even put some companies at risk of bankruptcy. However, thanks to the oil prices going down in the global market, airfare rates could once again be lowered accommodating budget traveling for tourists.

Unfortunately, there are still many travel agents out there who try to take advantage of the previous situation by offering expensive deals. These types of fraudulent agencies are exactly what you should bear in mind to avoid, when you plan your trip abroad. So the best thing you could do is browse online and compare all airfare rates. It will consume some of your valuable time, but at the end when you get the best airfare rates in town, you will know that your effort had been paid off for. If not, approach a trustworthy travel agent and lay down your requirements. i.e. whether you want to settle for a package which includes tours, accommodation and the airfare or whether you are looking at airfare rates alone. Whatever your choice is, it is recommended that you compare every option to see which ones put you at advantage.

The rule of the thumb when arranging a vacation abroad is to compare all possible options and get to know all possible routines and the associated airfare rates, before making a decision. Rushing through and settling for the first option in a brochure or in a website will surely lead to disaster, either financially or in form of a chaotic trip.

Air Fares From Bangkok To Cape Town

Basically there are two airports that you can use from Bangkok to Cape town; 1. Don Muang (DMK) route or 2. the Bangkok direct (BKK) route. However there aren’t usually any flights from DMK so we will only focus on BKK.

(BKK) Bangkok to Cape Town

You can make a choice from these cheap flights to Cape Town i.e. Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Thai Airways International, Emirates, Cathay Pacific Airways, Malaysia Airways Singapore Airlines or the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Ethopian and Kenyan Airways have the cheapest rates which are about half of the rates being charged by the other airlines.

The Ethiopian airways flight leaves Bangkok at 01:40 and flies to its home country Addis Ababa. It will arrive at 06.35 hrs and is scheduled to leave for Johannesburg at 08.50hrs where it should touch down at 13.15hrs. From there it leaves at 15:00 and heads straight for Cape Town where it arrives at 17:10 the next day.

The total time for this rather cheap flight is 22 hrs and 20 minutes of which 16 hrs and 40 minutes is spent in the air.

Airfare Discounts – A Simple Guide

Finding airfare discounts is a common mission that is on any traveler s mind If you are traveling as a group or as a family, receiving airfare discounts will be the best thing that can ever happen to you on the trip. But what is the possibility that you will receive such discounts?

In most cases, airlines offer discounts during times where they lose businesses. In other words, you will find airlines offering airfare discounts during non-tourist seasons in certain countries. In other rare occasions, airlines announce special discounts during company celebrations. For e.g. The XYZ airline may offer discounts in marking their 25th anniversary in the trade.

However, destiny is not the only element that makes you eligible for airfare discounts. Some credit card offers too, make you suitable for airfare discounts under particular conditions. These circumstances are not always disadvantageous compared to other offers that you may come across on the internet.

The bottom line is very clear when it comes to receiving airfare discounts. If the discount is given by the airline to the traveler, then it can be considered safer than you as the traveler being promised by a travel agent about airfare discounts that you may receive. It may be easier for traveling agents to promise you the sun and the moon but at the end of the day, they are not the ones that are making decisions about airfare discounts. Usually what happens is that the airline that you choose will have an understanding with the travel agent to provide discounts if they book a certain number of seats. The percentage of airfare discounts will certainly depend on the agreement they have with one another. So in such case, travel agents will have more say over determining the rates they offer travelers. This is why you see minor differences in the rates offered by different travel agents.

So when you settle down for airfare discounts, you need not only worry only about the figures. You must also look in to who is providing the service; i.e. whether you are receiving the discount from the agent or straight from the airline. You should also check whether your online payment goes through a secure gateway to ensure you are entrusting your credit card details with trusted sources. And lastly but not in the very least, you should check up on every single detail associated with your discounted airfare in order to avoid late disappointments!

Destination Australia – Queensland’s Mount Tamborine region

Located approximately 60 kilometres south of Queensland’s capital city of Brisbane, Tamborine Mountain is a volcanic plateau set within Australia’s Gold Coast hinterland.

An outpouring of lava from nearby Mount Warning – many millenia ago – created Tamborine Mountain’s lush, forested plateau which is approximately 8 km long by 5 km wide and now sits 600 metres above sea level.

The many attractions of the Mount Tamborine area and its picturesque villages include craft and antique shops, cafes and restaurants and numerous galleries which attract thousands of tourists every season.

The area is also known for its award-winning wineries with many offering tours, free tastings and affordable meals in beautiful surroundings. If you enjoy walking, nine National Parks within the region await you. Shady walking tracks lead through magnificent subtropical rainforest and past breathtaking waterfalls, natural swimming holes and rock pools. Sun dappled picnic and BBQ areas pepper the way and spectacular lookouts offer stunning views towards the ocean as well as to the West over the hinterland.

The Rainforest Discovery Skywalk is one of the latest Tamborine Mountain attractions and was completed in early 2009. Set on 30-acres of awe-inspiring rainforest and alongside a tumbling creek, the Skywalk consists of an eco walking trail that leads to a 40m-long platform set 30m above the rainforest canopy. A short distance away, another popular attraction are the Glow-worm Caves that offer guided underground sightseeing tours through two spectacular man made caves filled with thousands of glow worms.

The rich volcanic soil of the area supports a diversity of horticulture which can be enjoyed on nature walks as well as by visiting the local Botanic Gardens. The bounty of many residents’ gardens is also on display at several roadside stalls that abound with kiwi fruit, rhubarb, avocados and macadamia nuts quaintly displayed around an ‘Honesty Box’.

This small plateau is also rich in animal and bird life. Platypus, green tree frogs, scrub turkeys, wallabies and koalas form part of the Mountain’s varied range of wildlife and in the morning, the calls of lorikeets, kookaburras and lyrebirds can be heard.

The state of Queensland is known as Australia’s Sunshine State and on Tamborine Mountain, you can enjoy abundant sunshine year-round but without the heat and humidity that the more northerly parts of Queensland often endure.

The beaches, shopping malls, theme parks and many other Gold Coast attractions are a comfortable 40-minute drive from Mount Tamborine while Brisbane is one hour away, making the Mountain the ideal ‘base-camp’ location from which to explore south-east Queensland.

The nearest international airport is Brisbane, however national travellers often land at Coolangatta (Gold Coast) airport, a mere 45-minute drive from Tamborine Mountain.

Whether you are parents-to-be seeking a tranquil Babymoon destination, a newly engaged couple looking for that perfect Honeymoon location or if you are simply looking for the best Tambourine accommodation you will delight in the serene privacy of Mount Tamborine’s Witches Falls Cottages.

Witches Falls Cottages offer an idyllic retreat to nature and consist of very private cottages tucked away along rainforest pathways in one of Tamborine Mountain’s and perhaps even Australia’s most secluded and peaceful locations.

Serengeti Tanzania Africa largest national park

If you are thinking of catching the February wildlife great migration in the Serengeti national park, now is the time to book. The Serengeti played host to our honeymoon and 40 of our friends from around the world. Mid February we arrived and our timing was perfect.
I suddenly felt like I had been put into one of David Attenborough’s documentary’s witnessing the most spectacular scenes played out before my eyes the plains were full of gnu zebra’s and other wild life. The herd slowly moved on through it’s march, in the early morning light we could see mothers giving birth barely stopping, some of the mothers had calves half in and half out and had to carry on giving birth while marching with the herd.
No sooner were the calves born than they starting unfolding and stretching, staggering as quickly as they could to their feet to join the herd. Watching with quiet awe we witnessed as predators stalked the weak, the sick, the aged and young (if they were left alone or could be separated from the herd), while yards away mothers were giving birth to their young.
We went deep into the Serengeti where the scenery was spectacular, but the biggest concentration of game we saw was near lake Ndutu. Huge flat topped acacias surround the beautiful glistening and welcoming Lake Ndutu it is a beautiful setting that is home to the wild life that migrates through the Serengeti.
We stayed two nights at Ndutu Safari Lodge which is quite small (I think we filled it) but was full of old style game lodge charm and is the only lodge where you can sit and watch the migration of the wildebeest as they give birth and feed on the grass. To leave Serengeti and Tanzania will be the hardest thing we will have to do this trip, Lake Ndutu is a wonderful place that made our Tanzania safari the most magical adventure of our life time, it is fair to say that Africa has a place in our hearts and we will return

How To Find Paris Hotels: Does Paris’s First Arrondissement Suit You?

You are nearly there – Paris, the fabled City of Lights! You can hardly wait to land. You’ve gotten your Paris flight , now you’re assessing some seemingly fantastic offers on hotels and other accommodation in Paris . Where you are staying in the city is always an important consideration for cheap or expensive hotels in Paris even if you are looking at hotels in Paris city centre.  Here’s a guide to Paris’s 1st arrondissement so you can learn more about whether this neighborhood in Paris is where you want to be!

The First Arrondissement of Paris

Paris’s 1st arrondissement is filled with the elegance and grandeur that centuries’ worth of visitors have imagined when thinking of Paris, France . Imperial boulevards, exclusive fashion shops , and manicured parks overlooking the smoothly flowing River Seine are all found in this arrondissement , a district primarily of office space and tourist sites. Les Halles, Paris’s unusual take on a shopping center , can be found here as well.

What To Expect :

The Good :

Spending time in the First has many benefits. When you stroll under the nineteenth-century arches of the arcade Rue de Rivoli , you’ll be following in the steps of generations of dandies and duchesses: vanished members of Paris of a bygone era . You’ll be near some of Paris’s most remarkable tourist sites – the Tuileries garden to Chatelet -site of the Comedie Francaise, where Moliere once produced his plays – to the world renowned Louvre . And the shopping, on the elegantly understated Faubourg Saint Honore, is unparalleled !

The Downside :

While daytime in the First Arrondissement provides you access to some of Paris’s finest sights at a few moments’ walk, the business-like character of the area means that nightlife, by contrast, is limited within the arrondissement. So unless you go to the Les Halles/St. Denis area there’s not much to do. Les Halles/St. Denis’s low-budget pleasures may appear slightly seedy to visitors over the age of 21 (that said, the section bordering the Les Halles mall is very nice – a fine place to stop after catching a movie in Les Halles’s enormous cinema, which presents many American and British films in their original languages. But avoid going towards Rue St. Denis/Blvd. Sebastopol unless you’re consciously seeking that sort of milieu.) In addition, this area can get very touristy – especially around the otherwise lovely Rue de Rivoli.  So watch your handbag and control your buying impulse for souvenirs until you’re a bit further off the beaten path.

What To Do:
Sites and sights abound in the First. Take a walk down the Faubourg Saint-Honore, where nearly every top fashion house of the world has an outpost . Visit the Louvre or Tuileries Gardens near the Place de Concorde, see a play at the Comedie Francaise in the Chatelet area.

Where To Go To Eat :
Finding non tourist food is tough in this area, but finding wonderful desserts is not. Angelina, on Rue de Rivoli, has lost some of its former elegance, but the aging-grande-dame feel of the place makes the yellowed mirrors and creaky chandeliers worth seeing on their own merits. Plus, their famously rich hot chocolate and Mont Blanc desserts are among the best in Paris. For a more recent hotspot, Cafe Marley in the Louvre offers views not only of the museum’s art, but also of Paris’s current celebrity scene. For good food, the area right around Les Halles has a number of good brasseries, but, as said earlier, the area closer to Rue St. Denis and Sebastopol has a slightly seedier character – not at all dangerous, but nevertheless unsavory.

Shopping Spots :
If the exclusive shopping of the Faubourg Saint Honore is a bit out of your desired spending range, head to the Les Halles mall. A surprisingly beautiful, art nouveau-inspired underground city (complete with street names, a swimming pool, park, and more), Les Halles proves that even Paris’s shopping centers have a particular Parisian flair. While the area around the mall is useful for really cheap (think 3-5 euro) clothes and shoes, the mall itself has much higher quality items at pretty good prices.
